The Principle That Governs Life

“…an entire generation has grown up more or less disconnected from the Christian past of the West, and that activists must fight tooth and nail to educate the public on each and every issue. .”

I captured this bit of wisdom from an article on lifesitenews.com.  The reason that “activists must fight tooth and nail to educate the public on each and every issue”   is that we are failing to educate ourselves on the principles that govern vast amounts of the minutia that make up each and every issue!!!

Example:  A woman’s choice in whether or not to have an abortion.  There is a seemingly endless cloud of issues surrounding the reason nothing is getting done to either shut up the opposition or rescind Roe v Wade.

So what is the principle governing the whole thing?  A principle that would put an end to the endless dissension and hate surrounding the issue.  What is the truth of it?

In the Declaration of Independence it says that we as Americans believe certain things:  WE hold these Truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness—That to secure these Rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just Powers from the Consent of the Governed,…

The principle is that this nation (a nation of laws) was founded to preserve and protect the inalienable rights of its citizens.  First among these is the right to life.  The author of these rights is not the government.  Those rights are endowed by our Creator!  The sole purpose of the Government is to preserve an environment in which they are protected.

It is to protect the right to life from the moment life begins until it ends.  That is the principle.  Any law should adhere to that goal.

How should we err if there is some question as to whether a person should live or die?  Is the person guilty of some heinous act or is the person absolutely innocent?  This is the governing question, or at least should be under the principle of right to life.  Obviously, one surrenders their right to life by criminally taking another.  The government has no right or authority to make any law that legalizes taking the life of the innocent!  Not the Federal Government, not the state government, not the local government!

Medical necessity is not in view here.  It is not part of the question and is best left in the realm of the doctor and his upholding the Hippocratic Oath.  There are always options to take if malpractice occurs.

The question is one of murder for the sake of convenience made legal by a government that, under the Founding Charter of this Nation, has no right or authority to do so.

The consent of the governed is NOT the mandate legalizing murder of the innocent.  If that were the case lynching would not be illegal.

We have for so long been immersed in the effort to see to our interests that we have blinded ourselves to the principle that governs LIFE!

Arminianism vs Calvinism…

  Cut to the chase!

Calvinists say Its God’s choice and I can live with it.

Arminians say Its my choice and I can’t live without it.

Either God IS all-Powerful or He is not.  If my choice over-rules His it is obvious He is not!

Where does Scripture say we have free will?  Indeed it says we are captives to sin until the Lord sets us free and those whom He sets free are free indeed!

How Smart Are We?

 

If I asked you ‘Do you believe you are more intelligent than Benjamin Franklin?’ what would your reply be?  Seriously, not smart-alecky, but honest truth!  How about Thomas Jefferson, Alexander Hamilton, John Jay, John Hancock, or any of the other signers of the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution, do you believe you are more intelligent than they were?

Even if you were able to prove that you are, does that mean that you, without taking the time to study and think about what government is supposed to be and do, and without taking the time to thoroughly understand what their ultimate goal was in creating this nation for their children and yours, are you qualified to judge the moral and ethical virtue of what they accomplished?

The true test of your humility as an AMERICAN is your desire to know why those men came to the conclusions they did and were willing to make the sacrifices they did.  Until we have walked in their shoes, at least conceptually, and looked at the world systems through the lens of historical truth, there is no way we can judge whether their work is worth preserving.  There is no way we can pass it on to our children as something of transcendent value if we fail to treat it as such.

Scripture says seek wisdom as gold and precious gems.  The opposition to that idea makes up nearly half of our government today. If we are not governed by men and women who seek wisdom and believe that ALL men (women included) are created equal; if we are not governed by those who know that equality is not measured by material possessions or governmentally guaranteed sameness; If we are not governed by those who FEAR the Lord; we will be governed by despots who think they ARE the Lord!

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is the truth that our Founders knew first hand.

The book of Genesis Chapter 6 verse 5: And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

Has The God of Creation, the Father of Jesus Christ, changed His mind about the state of mankind’s heart since before the flood?

Jeremiah 17:9 says: The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

The Words of Jesus in Mark 7:21-23:

20 And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. 21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, 22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:

23 All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.

The Israelites demanded a king, just like all the other nations had. The Founders knew that power corrupts and did all they could to delay that happening to their children.  Are we smarter than they?  Aren’t we crying for our president to be king and ‘just fix it’!  Be very careful what you wish for, you just might get it!

 

Fruit of the Poisonous Tree Chapter One

What if your understanding of Christianity was somewhat in error?  Would you do anything at all to correct it?  Or would you hide behind the dogmatism of the establishment instead of creating your own very personal relationship with the Lord?  Of course, that is what we are told must be done if we are to be or become a child of God, isn’t it?

What if Adam was pronounced ‘good’ because he was created to fulfil a specific purpose;  a purpose The Creator ordained would come to pass in the fullness of time?

The question we are faced with is was Adam pronounced ‘good’ because of his moral purity, innocence, and personal relationship with God, or was he pronounced ‘good’ because he would accomplish the ultimate purpose of God in creating him?  Can it be both?  I think not!  And here’s why:

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth and the earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep.

In unpacking this primary statement of creation, there are several things to consider.

First, God is light and in Him there is no darkness at all.  So how is it possible that darkness is upon the face of the deep in the newly minted creation?  The definition of holy is ‘separate’.  God created heaven and earth to be apart from Him.  His light is not an integral part of it.  Why would God create something He wanted to be separate from?  He did so to fulfil His ultimate purpose for it.

One of the primary directives Holy Scripture gives us is to “be ye holy as I am holy”.  God sees the end from the beginning, not through clairvoyance, but through planning.  His plan is detailed to the subatomic level.  For the children of God to ultimately join Him in eternity, we must be holy as He is holy.

He does not have to be the author of sin for His plan to be detailed.  He created us with a carnal nature.  Scripture says that the carnal mind is not subject to the law of God, indeed it cannot be!

Okay, is it jumping to a conclusion that we (in Adam) were created with a carnal nature?  Oh, but this is getting ahead of the story!

Returning to holiness, we have to go back to creation before the beginning.  God is eternally holy. God is light and life.  So what is He eternally separate from?  All that is antithetical to life and light!  That is what He wants His children to be.  Now we have to ask ourselves, is this the best of all possible worlds for God to accomplish His ultimate goal; if indeed that goal is to bring the fruit of His creation (mankind) into eternity with Him; giving us eternal life with Christ as co-heirs.  We, of course do not know what we will be in eternity, but we know that we will be like Him!
