Redefining Nationalism!

We have good conservative pundits crying out that nationalism is a bad thing! That it IS the idea of deserved national superiority at the expense of everyone else.

As defined in the online free dictionary: nationalism, political or social philosophy in which the welfare of the nation-state as an entity is considered paramount. Nationalism is basically a collective state of mind or consciousness in which people believe their primary duty and loyalty is to the nation-state. Often nationalism implies national superiority and glorifies various national virtues. Thus love of nation may be overemphasized; concern with national self-interest to the exclusion of the rights of other nations may lead to international conflict.

As defined in Webster’s Seventh New Collegiate Dictionary it is:  nationalism, loyalty and devotion to a nation; esp: a sense of national consciousness exalting one nation above all others and placing primary emphasis on promotion of its culture and interests as opposed to those of other nations or supranational groups.

I must confess right now that I am a nationalist. I consider the UN (a supranational group) to have proven time and again to be anti-American and globalist in its philosophy and ideology.  I am NOT a nationalist by the online dictionary definition with its caveats, but because:

I believe that the USA as envisioned and created by the Founders is the greatest form of government that man has been blessed to live under.

I believe that the USA as envisioned and created by the Founders was not meant to force itself or its ideology on anyone else.  Indeed given the isolationist bent of our country until the opening of the twentieth century, I am certain of it.

So AMERICAN nationalism was never meant to crush other nations or force our will on others.

AMERICAN nationalism recognizes the right of sovereignty that every nation has.

AMERICAN nationalism lauds the freedom of the individual to pursue their dreams unfettered as long as those dreams do not infringe the rights of others to do the same.

AMERICAN nationalism is about defending the inalienable rights of the individual to do and be all they can to IMPROVE the human condition or NOT, as long as they do not harm others.

I could go on but the MEDIA both conservative AND liberal do us all a great disservice when they fail to understand and SHOW the difference between AMERICAN nationalism and the results of virtually every other form of nationalist ideology extant!

AMERICAN nationalism does not seek power over others. AMERICAN nationalism exalts the freedom of the American Citizen to live in freedom and prosperity always willing to help the less fortunate.

The ideology of AMERICAN nationalism is being buried in the distortion of the redefinition and the dumbing down of our citizens and our children makes it ever easier to manipulate us into a crass nationalism that has forgotten the responsibility to our fellow man that our Judaeo-Christian foundation requires of us individually and collectively.

The Founders passed on to us the responsibility to EDUCATE ourselves so that we WOULD NOT fall victim to such tactics.

Am I the only one left to speak up?

25 … Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:

29 … how can one enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.

30 He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.

What these verses mean to America.

Verse 25 says to every AMERICAN, not something-American, but AMERICAN that if we allow ourselves to be divided against each other by those lawmakers, instigators, community organizers, globalists, communists, HATERS ALL, who would put personal interests of the moment and the quest for personal power, above the eternal principles of morality and personal responsibility upon which this nation was founded, we will be brought to desolation!!  The Government of We the People is NOT centered in Washington D.C. It is centered in the reason  and conscience of each and every one of US!

Verse 29 reveals the plan they are using against us!  We, the strong man within his own house, has freely allowed those inside who hate him and will do their best to destroy him and spoil his goods.  They are inside his walls, inside his doors, inside his defenses and are using that position of free access to bind him by claiming their right to do as they please inside his walls.  As if their very presence gives them the same rights of ownership as he.  Rights to tear down walls, enslave his children, rape and murder his family, sell or destroy his property, do whatever THEY see FIT! All because HE recognizes that man has inalienable rights and has come to the mistaken belief  that all men are basically good.  Consider Jer. 17:9 and Mark 7:18-23

Jeremiah  The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

Mark quoting the words of Jesus

18 And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him;

19 Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats?

20 And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man.

21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,

22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:

23 All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.

Lastly Verse 30

We are at a crossroads in our history.  We have not been so divided since the Civil War. The barbarians are not just at the gates they are inside the walls in greater numbers by the day. There are homegrown haters being produced all the time.  America is a land which was founded on the principles of personal freedom and individual responsibility.  Those who are not willing to support and defend those principles, and live up to them in their own lives, are part of the group trying to destroy all that the rest of us hold dear.  We are a nation of laws. We must stand for the enforcement of those laws or we will be destroyed by those who hate.  Those who are not with us are against us.  We operate on the principle of ‘love thy neighbor as thyself.’  They operate on the principle of ‘my way or else’.

Americans need to stand for what America was founded to protect. We must not let ourselves be bound mentally or physically so the spoilers can have their way. Wake up America.

What IS the Question?

The ultimate test of a moral society is the kind of world that it teaches its children to cherish and pass on to their children!
Bohheoffer was correct in so far as he went. The greatest generation did what they could to leave us a free country but they didn’t demand enough of us. They didn’t demand that we understand how valuable freedom is. They didn’t demand that we cherish it as much as they did. It takes a very deep love of an idea to be willing to sacrifice your life to preserve that idea. But it looks like it takes an even greater love to indoctrinate your children with the reasons for that love and be willing to accept nothing less of them than that they grow to show as much love for what our Founding Fathers bought for us as they had and that the greatest generation tried to preserve.

What is the question?  The question is, do we love and cherish the truth of what the Founders gave us: the self-evident truths that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness?

No nation before or since has recognized these truths enough to set the foundations of its government upon them. We the People are to govern.  If we cannot govern ourselves as individual citizens of a nation founded upon the recognition of these truths, if we allow people to live within our sovereign borders to deny these truths to others, we have lost what the Founders handed down.

Any person or group that cannot or will not live under the laws necessary to protect  the inalienable rights of the individual that our governmental structure was erected to protect is a lawbreaker, a criminal.  This in no way is meant to imply that there is no room for honest dissent.

At this moment we have in our midst a growing religion/political ideology/theocracy, that doesn’t recognize these truths.  In fact under their economy, truth is a convenience to be bent, twisted, denied or used to further their goal of domination.

Their goal is to obliterate from the face of the earth any and all other beliefs. These people are willing to use our very belief in individual freedom to create a condition within our borders that would force people to give up essential liberty for safety. Our Founders knew and were familiar with such seditious methods.  In fact, Benjamin Franklin said,  “Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.”

What is the question?   Sharia and the Constitution cannot coexist within the same borders as rule of law.  The one denies the other. They are polar opposites  concerning the rights of the individual.  Are we willing to send those who profess and practice, and demand to live under Sharia, back to nations where that is the norm?  Can one claim citizenship in a place where he denies the authority of the government to enforce the law of the land and at the same time reserves to himself the right to enforce his own laws upon others?   No nation can survive that allows that to go on unopposed. Examples of failed states and states near failing are plentiful in the world today.  Must we fail as a state to show how tolerant we are?

Reason says they must either change to live under our Constitution and rule of law or we must demand that they leave, move to a place that welcomes their rule of law.

What IS the Answer?

What is the answer? Our Constitution guarantees the right to freely practice your religion. Until the turn of the millennium, there were few issues with that. Then Islam began to use that right to claim they could live under Sharia in the USA. That continued and escalating demand  MUST FORCE us to look at the truth of what our Constitution IS actually protecting via the First Amendment.
The first question is this: Was the intent of the First Amendment to authorize ANY RELIGIOUS practice that overrules the right to Life, Liberty, and Property that the duly elected authorities are in place to protect?
The obvious answer that anyone with two brain cells to rub together is a resounding NO!
Therefore, Sharia, which encourages the absolute authority of the man over the woman, honor killing of disobedient children, the stoning or caning of the wife who displeases the husband, female genital mutilation, the chopping off of hands or other appendages for theft and other crimes, etc., etc, etc, simply CANNOT be considered to be protected under the First Amendment.
Some punishment for breaking any religious law that does NOT also break CIVIL law simply MUST not be allowed to deprive ANYONE of Life, Liberty, or Property. If a particular religion has laws that call for the death of the lawbreaker for blasphemy (for instance), shunning (being considered dead to the other adherents of that religion) is permissible but killing them IS NOT!
The First Amendment Rights do NOT trump the INALIENABLE rights of the individual! How hard is that to understand? And why must it be such a crisis of conscience for Americans to stand up an say so?

As I see it there are laws on the books regarding indecent exposure. How about demanding that the executive branch enforce these existing laws? Is it not unlawful to expose one’s self to public view? And is public view not anywhere that the opposite sex (not gender identity) might see such display? And are restrooms not sexually designated to preclude such action? Why must I be forced to accept such lack of a grasp of reality or another law to stop someone dragging me into their fantasy?
Government always sees more government and more laws as the cure for ‘the problem’, when in point of fact it is not. An old teacher of mine said it best: The harder you try to make things foolproof, all you do is create a bigger and better fool!
Enforcing the laws we have is what needs to be done.

Of Crime and Punishment!

James Crawford, pastor of Westside Church, Redding, California, has been charged with 22 felony counts of lewd and lascivious conduct with a child, a series of sex crime-related enhancements, and nine misdemeanors.
His bail was set at $1 million and his attorney couldn’t believe it.
Now I’m not a lawmaker nor a judge, thank God. But these crimes took place over the course of 7 years! IF this man is found guilty, will his punishment fit his crime? IF this man is guilty, he has stolen something from these children that CANNOT be replaced and the punishment for that should make ANYONE even contemplating giving in to the sick temptation to molest a child pause to consider and FEAR what will happen WHEN they are caught!
It should be a CERTAINTY that they will NOT continue to live in relative comfort and ease.  If we, as a God the FEARING society we used to claim to be,  continue to reward lawlessness of every stripe and depravity by simply warehousing the felon in prisons that provide for their every want and need available behind bars, there is no more fear of God before our eyes.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. –That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed,
The ‘just power of the government’ includes the power to punish evildoers.  There is little more evil than poisoning the mind of a child through violating a position of unquestioned trust.  A man ‘of the cloth’ is presumed to be above reproach and to violate that trust is worse than highway robbery.  At least the robber is not deceiving anyone about his intentions nor his actions.  No, to violate a trust that presumes one to be above reproach is worse than murder.  It steals the innocence of youth and purity in the most vile of selfish action.  One who would do this should KNOW that he will neither live long nor prosper in the enjoyment of such depravity.  If the promised reward of goodness is not enough to curb one’s appetites, the utter fear of the punishment should.  Justice WILL be served.  God has promised that.  But that does not mean we can leave it all up to Him and allow this kind of immoral disgrace to run rampant among us.  Governments are instituted among men to protect the rights of ALL including those who are the most helpless.  We are failing miserably at that because we have decided to extend grace to those who will use it against us the next time they get the chance. Just punishment should remove either the desire or the chance!

How does this relate to Matthew 13:10-13 and 13:34?

Here are the passages:

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

The same was in the beginning with God.

All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

Matthew

Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

10 And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?

11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.

12 For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.

13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.

14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:

And Jesus Spoke to the crowd.

34 All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them:

35 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.

Is there a connection?

The Son Of God is the Word Made Flesh!  The  Holy Bible is the Word of God written.  The Word Made Flesh communicated to us directly in power and great glory, glory as the Only Begotten of the Father!  The Son spoke the Word to man in parables for a very specific reason.

The parables Jesus Spoke used physical truths to describe spiritual truths. God is the same yesterday, today, and forever.  If He chose to communicate with Israel through parable when He walked among us, is it not probable to a certainty that the Word written uses the same method for the same reason?

Matthew

15 For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.

17 For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.

Example: Jacob and Esau

Could they be an example (parable)  of the way Man was Created?  Esau (the flesh, the elder) the first born, Jacob (the spirit, the younger) the one God chose to bear His image (God is Spirit), supplanter.  Supplanter means ‘one who takes the place of’.

The firstborn was entitled to the majority share of the inheritance as well as the position of Patriarch of the clan.  God chose Jacob.  If you read the story carefully, you can see that Jacob tried his whole life to be that and was not the conniving trickster he has been portrayed for centuries.  Or you can believe something else.
